About:
Lingling’s research interests are in corporate and behavior finance, especially executive compensation, culture, and social issues. Many of her studies use unique hand-collected data. She has published in leading finance and accounting journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Finance, and Contemporary Accounting Research. Her work has been featured in the CFA Digest, Harvard Law School Forum, and Family Business United. Before joining the faculty at UConn, Lingling was an assistant professor of finance at Tulane University. She taught equity investments at Tulane and now teaches fixed income securities and a Ph.D. course in corporate finance at UConn. She has won multiple highly competitive teaching awards at UConn and Tulane. Prior to pursuing an academic career, she worked as a CRM Project Manager and senior application specialist for Sony Latin America Inc. in its Miami office. She earned her Ph.D. in finance from Georgia State University, an MBA from University of Miami, and a B.S. in economics from Southwest Jiaotong University in China.
